Candace Maisel, LCSW
Candace Maisel received her Bachelors in Social Work from Sacred Heart University, Masters in Social Work from Tulane University with a dual certification in Disaster Mental Health & Trauma Studies. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals and a proud member of Fairfield County’s Trauma Response Team. Candace is a certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA (EMDR International Association), Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, and Certified Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Provider (Integrative Psychiatry Institute). The clinic looks forward to offering psilocybin intensive sessions in CT once approved (anticipated 2025 approval). Additionally, Candace is a certified yoga instructor with a focus on Yin and trained in Holotropic Breathwork.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, her specialties include adolescents, adults, trauma & crisis intervention using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), and Brainspotting. For the past 10 years she has worked in a variety of residential settings and private practices with adolescents, adults, and families struggling to cope with trauma, depression, anxiety, school avoidance, social phobias, disordered eating, and self-destructive behaviors.
Candace firmly believes with the right support and guidance, each individual has the capacity to live a rich, full life, free of the emotional and psychological burdens that may hinder their pursuit of happiness and personal fulfillment. In a comfortable, nonjudgmental atmosphere, the strengths already within can be empowered to create meaningful, fulfilling change. She invites each client to engage in an integrative, holistic experience where all aspects of one’s well-being are valued and incorporated into the treatment process. Candace appreciates the power of humor to facilitate interpersonal connections and honor the resilience of the human spirit.
